In the Summer of 2021, the Homeless Action Partnership approved an eligibility and referral process with the County of Santa Cruz Housing Authority for the 263 Emergency Housing Vouchers and 75 Mainstream Vouchers allocated to Santa Cruz County as part of the Federal housing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since Sept. 2021, the County’s Human Services Department – Housing for Health (H4H) Division has processed the Universal Special Program Voucher Referral and Certification forms for the EHV and Mainstream Voucher programs.  As of Feb. 10, 2022, H4H approved more than 450 referrals for these voucher programs.

To ensure that there are sufficient vouchers available for persons whose applications are approved and have secured housing using these vouchers, effective Feb. 28, 2022, H4H will no longer accept new referrals for either the Mainstream or Emergency Housing Vouchers. The Housing Authority will not accept Mainstream or Emergency Housing Voucher applications with a referral signed by H4H after February 28, 2022.
