What is a Youth Family Unification Program Voucher?
A Youth Family Unification Program (FUP-Y) voucher is a housing choice voucher for young adults who previously received or are about to leave foster care services. Housing choice vouchers are administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Cruz. Voucher holders typically pay around 30% of their adjusted monthly income towards rent and the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Cruz pays the rest. The voucher lasts for at least three years.
Are you eligible for a Youth Family Unification Program Voucher?
- Are you between the ages of 18 and 24? (Yes, it counts if you aren’t 25 yet!)
- Have you previously or are you currently receiving foster care services?
- Are you unhoused or worried about how you will maintain your housing?
If you answered yes to all three questions, you may be eligible for a FUP-Y voucher!
With a FUP-Y voucher you will get support to help you find, move into, and stay housed while you work on goals that matter to you.
