Below is a list of shelters in Santa Cruz County for People Experiencing Homelessness and information on how to access.
County of Santa Cruz Emergency Shelter List
Starting in the summer of 2021, the County of Santa Cruz and its community partners began slowly winding down our comprehensive COVID-19 Homelessness Response as available resources declined. As part of this process, and as of Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, the COVID-19 Shelter Referral System is no longer in service. Persons experiencing homelessness or their representatives will now need to contact shelters directly to access assistance. Some shelters only accept new people through dedicated referral processes.
Additionally, the County of Santa Cruz has discontinued its hotel Isolation/Quarantine sheltering program for persons experiencing homelessness who have tested or are presumed positive for COVID-19. Referrals for this program are no longer accepted. Congregate shelter operation guidance for sheltering during the COVID-19 pandemic can be found here: https://housingforhealthpartnership.org/ForProviders/ShelterGuidance.aspx.
